The Starfarer's Strand that courses through the blood of every Solarian allows them to subsist on most of the rocks and gases found throughout the universe, but it's not enough to stomach Antican Magma Apples. Not even a Valoraphim with all their steely sphincters can handle them. Only an Antican can enjoy this phosphorescent melange of capsaicin, allyl isothiocyanate, and thermal energy. Things might be different if the genetic engineers of Duosol or Miraval could find a way to install a Critical Exhaust into their respective species's digestive systems, but as it stands neither can swallow one of these zesty apples without burning a new exit in their G.I. tract.
